Well scratch what's below, we figured the coast would be much the same north of Tromso and it felt a little counter productive getting a coach north to Hammerfest justto ride a few days back down (in awful weather) so we've headed right down the coast to the Lofoten Islands (the peninsula south west of Tromso) and are about to get a farry back to Bodø on the mainland.
We'll now take route 17 down the coast until we need a chance of scene (unlikely if this weather keeps up!) or if we need to catch up on time we can head inland for a faster, less fiddly and more sheltered road if the weather turns, but for now things are great!
- June 1st: Haywards Heath to Gatwick to Oslo to Tromso
- Bus north to Hammerfest (if Carlsberg did town names...)
- Ride south through Finland, Sweden, and back into Norway to explore the southern fjords, mountains and rivers
- Fly Oslo to Edinburgh July 6th (ish!) and cut across Scotland to meet friends with fresh legs cycling from John O'Groats
- Ride south for a couple of weeks for a well earnt camping holiday somewhere in Cornwall, win!
Bring it on!
But which way next?!
